Prior to Wealth, Shawver served as Head of Knowledge at TaxGPT, where he owned the quality and accuracy of an AI-native tax platform, making intricate tax concepts accessible through AI-driven insights. Before moving into technology, Shawver spent over three years as a Tax Attorney at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, where he advised on inbound international tax matters, contributed to published guidance, and played a key role in negotiating a bilateral income tax treaty. At Wealth, Shawver serves as Head of Knowledge for the Tax Planning solution, bridging product, engineering, and sales to ensure the platform's tools and content reflect the nuance and precision the law requires.
Shawver earned his J.D., cum laude, from Elon University School of Law, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
When he's not working, Shawver enjoys spending time outside with his family in Macon, Georgia — whether that's a morning hunt, a workout in the sun, or cheering on college football.
